With regards to the election outcome, some may say that the eye of the storm centered around Trump's ability to tap into the mindset of the American people who felt helpless against their own government. Pretty much Brexit part two, but in a more astonishing and historical movement by citizens who were fighting back against corrupt leadership who had given them a deaf ear.
Looking back on what was probably the political bread crumbs of why Trump won the election may be due, in part, to the elections of 2008 and 2012. Even then people saw the writing on the wall with regards to Obama's dictatorial leadership in getting his far left agenda through with no Republican approval. Clearly, Obama's fictional and statistically manipulated spreadsheet of progress was a sham and they knew it. However the outrage, the Republican gains in those elections did little to harness Obama's agenda, as he either vetoed almost every piece of legislation they submitted or went rogue himself. Hence the dysfunction and stalemate of our country.
But Obama and Hillary miscalculated one thing this time. This election revealed our democracy is still a nation for and by the people. Basically, they woke a sleeping giant from their own folly.
Regardless the current upheaval in the streets by the entitled and indoctrinated foe of our nation, the oil needed on the wheel of our government may have just been applied once again. Having a free agent in charge who owes no one any favors may just be the catalyst in getting our country moving in the right direction. However, only time will tell.
