The Birth of Religion, Genesis 3:4

The Jeff Morton Report (jeffmortonreport@yahoo.com)
Options concerning interpretation

Genesis 3:4-5 "The serpent said to the woman, "You won't surely die, for God knows that in the day you eat it, your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.""
To Adam, to Eve, what was death and how would either one of these two comprehend dying? These are two of the many questions that need to be answered if we are to understand what God said about death.

If you agree with the above statement than you are looking for an explanation as opposed to keeping the command.

  • Do not eat from that tree
  • You can eat from any other tree, plant, vegetation in this garden
  • If you eat from that tree, you "SHALL" die!

Religion would not have been born had Adam and Eve kept the law concerning that one tree...
Satan came and did away with the Law; His most prominent attribute being Lawlessness. Religion celebrates him as some sort of nemesis..A nemesis to whom exactly?

YHVH is presenting to humanity his ways, his governance, an everlasting Kingdom! He never said, "In My Opinion" Rather, he swore an oath numerous times about what he will do, what he is now legally bound by his own words to adhere too........He has never contradicted himself

Religion is a contradiction. All have killed their neighbor as one example!
