A Little Something from My Friend, Irene Guthrie

BY Irene Guthrie
James 1:25
But he who looks into the perfect law of freedom, and continues, not being a hearer who forgets, but a doer of the work, this man will be blessed in what he does. (WEB-World English Bible)
For those who believe that “grace” has replaced God’s Torah/law, have you ever looked in the Strong's concordance and examined the word "law"? If you haven't, I submit the following info for your consideration:
James 1:25
ButG1161 whoso lookethG3879 intoG1519 the perfectG5046 law G3551 of(G3588) liberty,G1657 andG2532 continuethG3887 therein, heG3778 beingG1096 notG3756 a forgetfulG1953 hearer,G202 butG235 a doerG4163 of the work,G2041 this manG3778 shall beG2071 blessedG3107 inG1722 hisG848 deed.G4162 (KJV+ eSword)
G3551 nomos; from a prim. nemo (to parcel out, espec. food or grazing to animals); law (through the idea of prescriptive usage), gen. (regulation), specifically. (of Moses [includ. the volume]; also of the Gospel), or fig. (a principle):-law. {Strong's Exhaustive Concordance-1979}
What, where, when, and whoever came up with the lame brain excuse that the Torah is done away with, AND the New Testament has replaced Torah with GRACE? This is preposterous, for GRACE is mentioned in the Old Testament, the very first time here:
Gen 6:8 But NoahH5146 foundH4672 graceH2580 [khane in Hebrew: graciousness/kindness/favor] in the eyesH5869 of the LORD.H3068
Grace is found throughout the WHOLE Bible. If one starts looking for the grace words, you will find grace working throughout the whole plan of the Almighty. But let's look at the New Testament/Brit Chadasha/Renewed Covenant and see where it is mentioned first in KJV:
Luke 2:40 AndG1161 theG3588 childG3813 grew,G837 andG2532 waxed strongG2901 in spirit,G4151 filledG4137 with wisdom:G4678 andG2532 the graceG5485 of GodG2316 wasG2258 uponG1909 him.G846
Strong's G5485: Greek word charis 5463: graciousness (as gratifying), of manner or act (abstract [Greek thought]  or concrete [Hebrew thought]; lit., fig. or spiritual: espec. the divine influence upon the heart, and its reflection in the life; including gratitude):--acceptable, benefit, favour, gift, grace (-ious), joy liberality, pleasure, thank (-s,-worthy).
I'll leave you with these Scriptures to weigh carefully in your mind, keeping in mind the mind of Messiah:
John 1:14
The Word became flesh, and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the one and only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 1:17

For the law was given through Moses. Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

Colossians 1:6
which has come to you as it has also in all the world, and it is bearing fruit, even also among you, since the day you heard and fully knew the grace of God in truth,

2 John 1:3
Grace will be with you, mercy and peace from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
2 John 1:4
I rejoiced greatly that I found your children walking in truth, as we have received command from the Father.

2 John 1:5
And now I beseech you, lady [LADIES & GENTLEMEN], not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.
2 John 1:6
And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, as you heard from the beginning, that you should walk in it.
And finally, a repetition of two different versions:
                   Isaiah 30:18

And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and                        therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD                    is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him. (KJV)
Isaiah 30:19
For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee. (KJV)
Isaiah 30:20
And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers: (KJV)
Isaiah 30:21
And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left. (KJV)

Isaiah 30:18
And therefore יהוה shall wait, to show you favour. And therefore He shall be exalted, to have compassion on you. For יהוה is an Elohim of right-ruling. Blessed are all those who wait for Him. (The Scriptures 1998)
Isaiah 30:19
For the people shall dwell in Tsiyon at Yerushalayim, you shall weep no more. He shall show much favour to you at the sound of your cry; when He hears, He shall answer you. (The Scriptures 1998)
Isaiah 30:20
Though יהוה gave you bread of adversity and water of affliction, your Teacher1 shall no longer be hidden. But your eyes shall see your Teacher1, Footnote: 1Or teachers. See also Joel 2:23.  (The Scriptures 1998)
Isaiah 30:21
and your ears hear a word behind you, saying, "This is the Way, walk in it," whenever you turn to the right, or whenever you turn to the left.
(The Scriptures 1998)
